FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How do I prepare for my appointment?
If possible it is best to come without any traces of eye makeup on. If you are unable to do so, there is cleanser and eye makeup remover provided, but please arrive early to allow time for cleansing, so we can spend your entire appointment time applying your beautiful lashes.
  • Will they damage my natural eyelashes?
Eyelash extensions should not damage the natural eyelashes if they are applied correctly. What this means is the eyelash extension goes on one, single, isolated natural eyelash, so the natural lashes can grow and shed independently as they normally would. Careful consideration of the length, and volume of the extensions is also crucial. Wearing extensions that are much too long and/heavy can damage natural eyelashes. At Glamorous Amaris Lashes we have a vested interest in the health of your natural eyelashes, and focus on applying extensions that are beautiful, yet sustainable for long term wear.
  • Are they waterproof?
Yes! That is one of the many amazing things about wearing eyelash extensions. Unlike mascara, or other type of false lashes, you can swim and your lashes will still look longer, fuller, and gorgeous after getting wet. No smudging!
  • How do I care for my lash extensions?
Lash extensions are surprisingly easy to maintain. The important factors are to keep your eyelashes clean by cleansing them throughly and daily. It is also important to avoid waterproof cosmetics, and products with oil in the eye area. Thorough aftercare instructions are given at the time of appointment.
  • How long do they last?
Each extension should last for the life the natural eyelash cycle. As your natural lashes grow and shed, the extensions will grow and shed with them. Most clients experience enough shedding within 3 weeks to be in need of a touchup. Some clients need, or want, to come every 2 weeks. These clients either have a somewhat faster growth cycle, are a little rougher on their lashes, or just prefer to have their lashes at maximum fullness as much as possible. How full your lashes will look at the end of your touchup appointment will be greatly affected by how many lashes you have when you arrive for your appointment- ideally you should have 50% of your extensions still on at touchup time. Please keep this in mind when determining how long to wait to schedule your touchups. Also arriving on time for your appointments will ensure you will receive the maximum amount of eyelashes. Waiting more than 5 weeks between appointments will require another full set appointment.
